Now that you have read the post and watched the video about our honeymoon to Bora Bora, I bet some of you are thinking… “I wonder how much my own trip to Bora Bora would cost?” Google states that a couple usually spends a minimum of $11,000 for a week-stay in Bora Bora.
We were able to thoroughly enjoy our honeymoon and only spend $3,732 for our stay. That’s a 66% savings compared to the average traveler! Here’s the breakdown for our six-day honeymoon in Bora Bora.
First off, we just want to thank you for reading our first post on The Savvy Journey. We are newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Savvy, excited to share about our travel, finances and life stories.
We returned from our honeymoon a week ago. After planning a wedding for us and 250 guests, we wanted to treat ourselves to an amazing honeymoon. We knew we needed the ultimate destination to unwind after all the wedding planning and from our stressful work schedules, so we chose… Bora Bora! I, Mrs. Savvy, have always wanted to visit Bora Bora. The turquoise ocean water and overwater bungalows captivated me. For years, I could not let go of the vision that one day I would have my honeymoon there. I recall a year ago, Mr. Savvy researched the cost of a week-honeymoon in Bora Bora and I assumed it would be pricey, but when the actual cost was said out loud, I was sticker-shocked. The beautiful overwater bungalows start at $1100 USD a night. Wow… no wonder why only the rich and famous vacation there. But still, Mr. Savvy was on board for an exotic honeymoon in Bora Bora. We had a vision, saved for it and we made our honeymoon happen!
